About BGS

More than 15 years of design and construction experience in the commercial and residential fields laid the groundwork for the BGS Plan Company over 25 years ago.  At that point we were asked to help out with a blueprint reading class by providing sample plans for garages. 

It was the clarity required by the class's students that laid the foundation for what BGS would become.  Because these students had no background in building, we included details that wouldn't normally be part of a standard blueprint, including detailed framing views (elevations) that showed the placement of every stud, anchor bolt and holdown.

Each BGS plan is not just drawn up, but virtually constructed during the design process, enabling us to work out any 'bugs' in the design stage.  Our garage, barn and storage building plans are created using Microstation, the world-standard design software used by NASA and Boeing.  Because all building elements are included in this design process, they show up on the blueprints you purchase.  Also, any potential mistakes are caught during this design stage, so corrections can be made at the time of design rather than on your building project, when they could show up as costly and time-consuming surprises.

Contractors choose BGS plans because they're so reliable, because they've learned over the years that BGS plans will present no problems with local building departments, and because their clarity and detail means that they require less supervision in the field.

For the past 24 years, we've specialized in barn, garage and shop building plans exclusively.  Unfortunately, we're not available to design your home, home addition or other structures.  We only do barn plans, garage plans and shop plans.  And our depth of experience with these over the years means that we've been able to perfect our blueprints so that you, the customer, get a truly smooth, trouble-free building experience.
