How does this impact you and your future build?
While not transferable from one address to another, previously engineered plans have a few significant advantages. The engineering can be in large part still accurate for your future building. This can cut down on engineering costs if they are required and improve the approval process with your local planning and building departments.
At BGS our first question on this topic will always be- Have you contacted your local planning and building departments? Ultimately, they will be the ones deciding if engineering is required and approving the final set of plans.
If you have been instructed that engineering is required, our plans are a great place to start saving on time and costs!
Measure Twice, Cut Once
That’s a common phrase in the construction field. No one likes slowing down a project by wasting time and materials. This is why every BGS plan has so much detailed information.
There are two general ways a building can be modified. For more complex changes like altering the height, width or depth, foundation or roof, plans are normally changed by an architect or engineer before the building begins.
For simpler changes before or during construction, like adding a small window, an experienced contractor would be the right choice.
