Modifications
MEASURE TWICE, CUT ONCE.
That’s a common phrase in the construction field. No one likes slowing down a project by wasting time and materials. This is why every BGS plan has so much detailed information.
Plan changes, if needed, are commonly done at the local level. Cost of modifications can vary depending on the complexity of the building. Your contractor many not need to have the stock plans changed but verify that with the building department.
There are two general ways a building can be modified
- For more complex changes like altering the height, width or depth, foundation or roof, plans are normally changed by an architect or engineer before the building begins.
- For simpler changes before or during construction, like adding a small window, an experienced contractor would be the right choice.
